I first discovered Physicians Formula a couple of months ago after I started watching Kathleen Lights‘ YouTube channel and I’ve loved the couple of products I’ve gotten from them. One of those products was the Butter Blush in the shade Plum Rose.
There are so many things to love about Physicians Formula, but I think the most important one is the fact that when you open them they smell like the beach. That beachy, coconut, sea smell you connect to all your beach/summer memories from your childhood. That’s what this smells like. I really can’t get better than that, doing your makeup in the morning and getting this feeling that you’re somewhere so much better and not getting ready for your 9-6 job. The formula is really nice and it goes on really nice on the skin. It blends easily, the only thing is that you might need to build it up as it is not very pigmented but this is not a big issue for me as I would rather have a natural looking blush. I mostly fell in love with this blush because of the shade – I had one like this ages ago from Avon that was more of a wine-y shade and not pink or peachy – and I’ve been on the quest for one like that since forever.
The shade is the reason I decided to try the Milani Powder Blush in the shade Romantic Rose. The packaging of this product is gorgeous. The powder has been molded into the shape of a rose, and even though is a drugstore product, the plastic packaging feels really sturdy. Buuuuuuuutttt after raving about the fabulous scent of the Physicians Formula blush, the first time I opened the Milani blush I was taken aback by how fake it smelt. I still use it – not too often, but every once in a while – and when I do, I really feel like I’m putting powdered plastic on my face. I know Physicians Formula is not exactly the most organic, safe brand either, but there is definitely a striking difference between these two products.
My final say is that Physicians Formula Butter Blush wins this round!
