Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my blog again. If you missed last month’s Play! by Sephora box, you can find it here.
I honestly look forward more to my Play! by Sephora unboxings than to my Birchbox unboxings. Anyone else feel the same way? I think it has to do with the physical bag it comes in, much like IPSY does, I don’t find the cardboard box too exciting, even if they do change the design every month.
The theme for this month’s box is “The Rising Stars” – cult favorites, hard-to-find formulas, and one-of-a-kind brands that are making their mark. I love that so far my boxes have included a variety of products that target different areas whether it’s skin, hair, or lips, and even though the perfume is not my favorite thing about the box, it’s still nice to try out new fragrances every month.
I won’t delay you anymore with my thoughts on things, here are the items I received this month!
I am so excited to get this! I received another sample of the Tata Harper Resurfacing Max in an old Birchbox and it’s really interesting how the packaging is. This one looks a lot more sturdy and nicer and just better quality. This mask works like a “peel treatment to purify and revitalize skin with a proprietary blend of potent botanicals.” Once applied, you’re supposed to leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off. It leaves my skin with a bit of a healthy glow and I love it! Highly recommend it.
I have read mixed reviews about this. The Milk Blur Stick is a “matte-coverage blurring stick that smooths and primes all skin tones for makeup by minimizing the appearance of pores and fine lines.” I am definitely excited to try it, but a lot of other beauty YouTubers and bloggers have said they don’t really notice much difference when using it. Have any of you tried it? Let me know what you think in the comments!
A while back, I also received an eyeshadow from Trèstique and I loved how easy and blendable it was. I am sure this will be just like that. The shade looks gorgeous and it is very natural, so if you’re not big on the glow, this would be perfect for you! The guide describes it as a “silky-smooth gel highlighter stick that pairs a barely-there, lightweight texture with a luminous champagne pink shimmer.”
Ever since I balayaged my hair… Not sure if that’s a term but I am just going to go with it, my hair has thinned out a lot and it tangles easily and it’s just a pain in the butt. I’ve recently been using a variety of products to improve this and I will be sharing them with you in the next few weeks, but any sort of hair product excites me, even though I didn’t use to be a high maintenance hair person. This is a “salon-quality conditioning treatment made with omega-rich oil that soaks into damaged or dull hair to add shine and vibrancy.” Will definitely be writing a full review of this!
The guide described this as a clear gloss that “uses a patented hyaluronic acid-infused formula to visibly plump lips while also softening over time.” Does anyone know a trick to not get gloss all over your face? I use glasses most of the day so that I can see, and I find it that sometimes I even end up with gloss on my glasses that first got on my hair and the somehow ended up on the glasses. I haven’t tried this out, but from experience, I believe it will a bit tingly and not really do anything TOO noticeable. On the guide, it says it should be used twice a day.
Last and least, “inspired by vacations in the South of France, this scent blends notes of sun-warmed woods with salty ocean air and fresh, green fig leaves.”
Please let me know if you’ve tried any of these! I would love to know.
